Strategic Advisor: Larry Kinch
An avid entrepreneur by nature and petroleum engineer by profession, Larry has co-founded and steered to growth multiple companies. In 1997, he co-founded Venture Production Plc. As a Director and major Shareholder, he helped develop the company leading to its successful floatation on the London Stock Exchange in 2002. Venture grew to become the largest UK Independent oil and gas producer in the North Sea with daily production of 53,000 boepd, proven and probable reserves of 240 MMboe and a market cap exceeding £1 billion. In September 2009, Venture was acquired by Centrica plc for a total consideration exceeding $2 billion. In 2003, he co-founded Energy Development Partners, a new model vehicle focused on funding and executing developments of proven North Sea undeveloped reserves. In 1985, Larry co-founded Petroleum Engineering Services, an Aberdeen-based oilfield equipment and service company. As Chairman and CEO, he grew the company from start-up to become a highly profitable market leader and negotiated the sale of the business to Halliburton Energy Services for £111 million in February 2000. Larry started his career as a petroleum engineer and gained initial UK and International industry experience with Schlumberger, Shell and BP. He was awarded an honorary Doctorate in Technology from The Robert Gordon University in 2006.
